Do I have to pay for parking?

No. Parking is free and available in the designated lot east of the building. Once you arrive at the Election’s Office, follow directional signage for parking and the courtroom entrance.

Is there security entrance screening?

Yes. And, to speed up security screening, we request that you bring a clear bag and limit the number of items you bring into the courtroom. As with any courthouse, weapons, including pepper spray, are not allowed.

Will there be conference rooms available to use?

No, there are no conference rooms available for parties and attorneys.

Are there public Restrooms?

Yes. The public restrooms in the Election’s Office lobby will be available for attorneys, parties, and witnesses. To access these restrooms, you will need leave Department 50 and walk over to the public entrance of the Election’s Office. Please ask court security if you need guidance or directions.

Will I be able to display evidence?

Yes, a device is located between the counsel tables to enable display. To display digital evidence, connect your laptop to the document scanner using the HDMI cord provided. To display physical evidence, turn the document scanner on and place the physical evidence below the scanner’s camera.

Do I need to bring copies of my evidence?

Yes. There will be limited printing in Department 50. Please bring courtesy copies.

Can I appear in Department 50 remotely?

No. Department 50 will not offer remote appearances. All attorneys, parties, and witnesses must appear in person.

Will jury selection occur in Department 50?

No. Jury selection will not be conducted at Department 50, only pretrial motions, civil trials, and family law long cause hearings. Instead, jury selection will occur at the Gibson Courthouse (10820 Justice Center Dr., Roseville, CA 95678).

Will clerk’s office services be available in Department 50?

No. Clerk’s office services will not be available in Department 50. These services are available at the Gibson Courthouse.
