Live Chat is online tool that allows you to chat directly with a court staff member.   Staff from the Clerk's Office and Self-Help Center are available to help you over Live Chat. See below for the Court's Live Chat offerings and hours. To begin a Live Chat:

  1. Review the eligibility and hours for the Division you wish to contact.
  2. If you have an existing case, please have your case number ready.
    Don't know your case number? Look it up on the Online Portal.
  3. If you wish to speak to the Self-Help Center, click the appropriate button to be redirected to the Self-Help page.
  4. Click the Live Chat button in the bottom right corner of the page.

The Clerk's Office cannot assist with any of the following over LiveChat:

  1. Legal advice, including instructions on what form to file
  2. Any Probate-related questions (including Guardianships & Conservatorships)
  3. Any Juvenile-related questions
  4. Payment of case-related fines/fees
  5. Reviewing, accepting, and/or receiving filings
  6. Remote Appearance requests
  7. Requests to schedule a surrender on warrant.
  8. Traffic School Sign-Ups
  9. Transcribing, sending, or summarizing minute orders.
  10. Technical assistance for eFiling, the Portal, and Remote Appearances.
  11. Information pertaining to confidential cases.


  •  Mondays and Tuesday from 8:00am – 9:00am, excluding court holidays.
  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2:00pm – 4:00pm, excluding court holidays.

Please note that the Judicial Council’s ChatBot is automated and is not a conversation with a real person. Additionally, the Placer Superior Court and its staff do not have control over its operation.
