Human Resources

We employ approximately 150 people in a variety of job classifications to perform a wide range of non-judicial functions including: legal processing, jury and courtroom support, IT administration, accounting, human resources, legal research, family mediation services, facilities maintenance and administrative management.

 

Human Resources is a division of Court Administration and handles personnel services for the Superior Court, including but not limited to: employer/employee, labor relations and negotiations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, benefits administration, safety and wellness, leaves of absence, employee training and a various aspects of legal compliance.

Benefits the Placer Superior Court offers employees:

  • Vacation Leave:  Accruals start at ten (10) days per year (accrual rate and vacation cap increases with years of service.)
  • Sick Leave:  Twelve (12) days per year.
  • Holidays:  Fourteen paid holidays per year. (Every other year, the Court conducts an All-Staff Training Day on the Cesar Chavez holiday, and employees receive thirteen (13) paid holidays and one (1) floating holiday).
  • Affordable Medical Benefits:  The Court offers two (2) Blue Shield PPO medical plans, one (1) Blue Shield EPO medical plan and one (1) Kaiser medical plan.  
    • The Court pays 100% of the premium for one Blue Shield PPO plan and the Kaiser plan, regardless of coverage level.
  • Dental Insurance:  The Court pays 100% of premium for employee and dependents.
  • Vision Insurance:  The Court pays 100% of premium for employee and dependents.
  • CalPERS Retirement:  Specific benefit formula will be determined per California Public Employees Retirement System regulations.

    • PEPRA = 2% @ 62.

Additional Employment Information:

Oath of Office: Every Court employee must take and sign the Oath of Office before he or she commences the duties of Court Employment.

 

Fingerprinting and Security Clearance: Employees are fingerprinted and must pass a criminal background check. Information obtained will be evaluated for compatibility with Court employment. Any false statement or omission of material fact may cause forfeiture to employment rights. Information presented on employment applications, resumes, and during the examination process is subject to verification.
