The Self-Help Center provides legal and procedural information and assistance to self-represented litigants with cases in or who reside in Placer County.
The Self-Help Center provides assistance with the following case types:
• Family law (including Divorce, Custody and Support)
• Restraining orders (including Domestic Violence Restraining Orders, Civil Harassment and Elder Abuse)
• Child support
• Unlawful Detainer (“Eviction”)
• Small claims
• Name change
• Guardianships
• Conservatorships
To schedule an in-person, telephone, or video appointment with the Self-Help Center, select either: “IN-PERSON APPOINTMENT: SELF-HELP,” “SELF-HELP APPOINTMENT: TELEPHONE,” or “SELF-HELP APPOINTMENT: VIDEO.”
During your Self-Help Center appointment, staff can help you with:
• General information about court procedures and instructions;
• Case specific questions;
• Review of your court forms; and
• Provide you with resources that may be helpful to your case.
